Transforming Lives Through Community Action

From child welfare to women’s leadership, VIKASANA fosters change by enabling self-reliance and development through people-led initiatives.

About VIKASANA

VIKASANA is a grassroots non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to transforming lives through sustainable development. Founded in 1988-89, VIKASANA began its journey in five villages of Amruthapura, Tarikere Block, Chikkamagaluru District, Karnataka. Over the past 35+ years, we have expanded our reach to over 500 rural villages across Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga districts.

Our work focuses on social, educational, economic and environmental empowerment, especially for rural women, children, small and marginal farmers, and vulnerable communities.
