Bridge Schools – Chattanahalli & Duglapura

Objective:
To rehabilitate and educate children from vulnerable backgrounds — including child labourers, dropouts, orphans and children from poor or single-parent families.

Key Highlights:

  • Chattanahalli Bridge School supported by Anna Schmidt School, Germany (via KKS).

  • Duglapura School supported by Asha for Education, Seattle.

  • Safe shelter, nutritious meals, learning materials, and psychosocial support provided.

  • More than 200 children reintegrated into formal education over the years.

Drought Relief Project – Kadur Block

Objective:
To build resilience in drought-prone communities and improve livelihoods of smallholder farmers.

Supported by: Karl Kübel Stiftung (KKS) and BMZ, Germany

Key Activities:

  • Sustainable agriculture training

  • Water conservation practices

  • Community capacity building

  • Reached 1,598 poor farming families in 20 villages

Tribal Development – TDF (NABARD)

Objective:
To enable economic self-reliance and social development among tribal families.

Coverage: Koppa and Sringeri blocks, Chikmagalur

Key Achievements:

  • Supported 435 tribal families

  • Initiated sustainable farming models

  • Capacity building & livelihood support

  • Cultural and social inclusion activities

Savayava Bhagya Yojane – Organic Farming

Objective:
To promote sustainable organic farming practices and secure rural livelihoods.

Villages Covered:
Chikkathuru, Yelugere, K.Gollarahalli, Hanuvanahalli, Muguli, Kesaru Koppa  and Gubbiga

Key Achievements:

  • Awareness & training on vermi compost, pest control, crop rotation

  • Organic certification support

  • Livelihood security initiatives

HIV/AIDS Link Worker Project – Chikmagalur District

Objective:
To raise awareness and strengthen prevention and care systems for HIV/AIDS in vulnerable communities.

Supported by: UNICEF, PSI, DH&FWO, DAPCU

Key Achievements:

  • Active in 72 villages

  • Condom promotion, HRG mapping, village outreach

  • Establishment of VIC, RRC & HIV support committees

  • Strengthened referral services for HIV+ individuals
